Project Overview

GTE group were engaged by a client to commission a replacement medium voltage drive for a conveyor system at short notice.

The original medium voltage drive had failed with an input transformer fault and required immediate replacement. GTE provided 24/7 coverage to change out the failed drive and commission a new drive ahead of schedule to minimise production impact.

Approach and Solution

Tasks included:

Installation supervision
Power up drive control power and medium voltage
Drive parameterisation
Verification of drive input and output waveforms
Drive tuning
Performance testing
PLC and SCADA compliance checks

The drive was also interfaced to the site iba data acquisition system using the SiMVD interface. This allows for continuous high-speed data acquisition.
