Control Systems Engineer

Aidan has skills in both the electrical and control system domains. Working for a robotics company Aidan developed a broad set of skills from electrical design of servo motors, to CAD design to programming in python. More recently Aidan has completed some ASM Citect upgrade works in Iron Ore for BHP and worked on PLC Upgrade Projects at Port Hedland.

An experienced accountant skilled in Financial Accounting, Project Accounting, and Financial Analysis. Currently in her last year of CPA studies, Mia is one our longest standing employees and has grown with the company.

Senior Network Engineer

Network engineer with over two decades experience in network and communications system across multiple industries. Proven record for delivering network design and network migration projects for different customers in WA, covering Routing & Switching, Unified Communication, Security and Wireless.

Andy Lourenco

Senior Design Draftsperson

Andy has over a decade of experience in the electrical drafting field working on projects such as switchboard replacements for mining projects and PLC upgrades. Most of the Andy’s work was spent working as electrical drafter for a major resource Company (BHP) in the Iron Ore industry in Western Australia. Andy always prides himself on excellent workmanship and a high level of detail.

Ashley Ingham

Executive Director

Ashley is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with extensive experience across the mining and rail industries. This includes work in Africa, Europe and Asia. Ashley has experience across a diverse range of processes including iron ore, magnetite, uranium, lithium, rare earths and diamonds both above and below ground. Ashley has a significant drive to achieve success and deliver projects with a strong focus on operability and maintainability.

Lucy Christie

Human Resources Manager

Lucy is the Human Resources Manager at GTE. Lucy holds over a decade of experience in sourcing, selection and retention working with Small Businesses, Government Departments, Private Enterprises and Multinational Companies across a diverse range of industries. Lucy values the consultative approach to finding the right people and sees her role at GTE as a way of introducing its projects to the right talent. In addition to internal recruitment, Lucy provides HR Performance Management and onboarding expertise, which helps with staff retention and company culture. Her experience and skillset has had positive outcomes for GTE and Lucy looks forward to attracting additional staff to GTE in the future.

Lead Network Engineer

Benson is a Principal Network Engineer with over a decade of industry experience in networks and communications. Benson has a demonstrated track record in delivering significant network projects for major mining and industrial companies. Benson has been working on various BHP projects for the past 18 months and has had previous involvement with the RB01 Remote Operation project.

Braithe Gildersleeves

Lead Network Engineer

Braithe has worked on BHP projects in a variety of roles for the past two decades. Braithe spent 5 years working on the PLC upgrade project and is extremely familiar with the design and implementation of the system which will enable him to slot into the commissioning team seamlessly.

Rachel Cheah

Senior Network Engineer

Rachel has worked for over a decade in both Technology Information and Control Systems disciplines. Rachel has a demonstrated history of delivering industrial Process Control Network projects and Enterprise Network projects from detailed design, implementation, factory acceptance testing, through to site commissioning. Additionally, she is familiar with ITIL Foundation, proficient in Allen-Bradley control logic PLCs along with Citect SCADA and Siemen VVVFs. Rachel is always striving for success and to deliver projects with a strong focus on standardisation, operability and maintainability.

Caleb Paget

Lead Control Systems Engineer / Functional Safety Engineer

Caleb has worked over a decade in industrial control systems and automation. He has extensive mining experience with a particular focus on mobile machinery automation and bulk materials handling. Caleb has significant site-based commissioning exposure, has a good mechanical grounding and is a Certified Functional Safety Professional. He has a passion for complex problems and enjoys learning and applying new and emerging technologies.

Chin Fei Low

Electrical Engineering Manager

Chin Fei is a Chartered Professional Engineer, who is highly competent in electrical distribution design, project lifecycle studies, contracts management, commissioning, and construction management. He has worked extensively on both greenfield and brownfield projects across BHP and Rio Tinto sites. His recent electrical upgrade works from a reputable oil and gas project have further expanded his skills. Chin Fei has a strong focus on safety in design and delivering high-quality works.

After completing a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Western Australia, Rebecca has worked locally and internationally within global organisations. Rebecca thrives off being in a fast-paced environment, and brings her experience from a diverse range of industries to her role at GTE. Rebecca supports our HR Manager with a diverse range of human resources tasks.

With extensive experience in the mining and resources industry, Chris has a proven track record for delivering quality outcomes across Mechanical, Electrical and Control System Engineering disciplines. Drawing from his extensive operational field experience, Chris is particularly skilled at identifying and executing safe, cost effective and reliable improvement initiatives to realise maximum value for his clients.

David Colhoun

Senior Control Systems Engineer

David has over a decade of experience working in Australia, Switzerland and the UK in the resources industry in materials handling, mining, manufacturing and logistics. David has specialist experience providing automated robotic solutions for the three major iron ore miners in WA. David has worked on several mining stockyard equipment projects. These have included various remediation works, PLC upgrades and automating of manual equipment. David is committed to process improvement and system development.

Sipho Dube

Project Engineer

Project Engineer with more than a decade of experience in project planning, project management and technical documentation. Sipho has worked on projects ranging from fiber transmission links to the design of telecommunications systems for Greenfields oil and gas mining projects. She has experience in risk and change management for technology systems migration.

Darren Bowles

Executive Director

A professionally qualified chartered Electrical Engineer (Fellow Engineer) with extensive experience in electrical engineering, automation and autonomous mining. Darren has a wealth of experience with process control and autonomous systems and has held senior positions at both BHP and Rio Tinto.

Deon Van Wyk

Senior Control Systems Engineer

Deon specialises in process control and instrumentation and has over two decades worth of experience in design, procurement, construction management and commissioning of control systems. He has worked across a variety of resources including nickel, iron ore LNG and platinum. Deon has a strong background in Allen Bradley PLC systems and Citect SCADA.

Hamza Azhar

Control Systems Engineer

After graduating with first class honours Hamza has built up a broad range of experience across electrical and control systems. His key expertise includes Allen-Bradley PLCs, Schneider Modicon Quantum PLCs and CitectSCADA. Hamza has previously provided operational support as part of the BHP IROC team and more recently he has been working on various small projects for BHP and Roy Hill.

Hari Subbian

Lead Control Systems Engineer / Functional Safety Engineer

Hari is a Senior Control Systems Engineer with over a decade of experience with automation and control and electrical systems. Hari has expert knowledge of the Allen-Bradley automation platform which consists of Control Logix and Compact Logix PLCs, along with FactoryTalk View SCADA and Power Flex VVVF Drives. Additionally, Hari has extensive experience working with the Schneider automation platform.

Hong Kwah

Lead Control Systems Engineer

Hong is a Lead Engineer with over a decade of experience across a wide range of commodities including iron ore, gold copper and zinc. Hong has spent 10 years working across various BHP projects both greenfield and brownfield in nature. Hong has extensive experience with site integration and commissioning. Hong has Siemens S7 experience which includes programming and commissioning a gold mine in Egypt as well as programming PLCs for mines in Mauritania, Zambia and Congo.

Gabriel Ng

Control Systems Engineer

Gabriel is an experienced Control Systems Engineer with a strong Controls & Electrical Engineering background.
He has experience in the Mining, Resources and Utilities sector having worked across large Major Capital Projects including Chevron Wheatstone LNG, Horizon Power as well as numerous projects with BHP and Rio Tinto.

James has extensive experience in networks and communications across both operational and project roles within the resources sector. Using his operational experience James is able to design and deliver projects that best meet the needs of our clients. James is passionate about ensuring the seamless transition to support of projects to enable project value to be realised from day one.

Takesure Guchu

Senior Control Systems Engineer / Functional Safety Engineer

Takesure is an accomplished electrical and control systems professional with extensive experience across a diverse range of maintenance activities as well as capital and improvement projects within the mining sector. He has considerable experience in team leadership encompassing planning, costing, design and execution of projects. Takesure’s key strengths include experience with various PLC platforms, SCADA systems as well as supporting a multitude of server and network switch types.

Michael Gibson

Executive Director

Michael is an Executive Director and founding partner of GTE with a background in Control Systems. He attended the University of Western Australia where he studied his Bachelor of Engineering degree and is a Functional Safety engineer with certification from TÜV Rheinland. He has worked for more than a decade in the resources industry in maintenance, operational and project roles. Michael has a proven track record for delivering process and system efficiencies in a safe and thorough manner using his systematic approach and attention to detail in his work. Omar is a Solution Architect in the mining and automation industries with an Infrastructure Engineer background. Holding over a decade of experience, Omar has strong leadership skills, project management and project delivery experiences. Expertise includes designing, managing and overseeing technical architecture and integrating technology systems from diverse sources into the business. Multi-lingual and a technically minded individual capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Mostafa Ravanbakhsh

Functional Safety Engineer

Mostafa is a Functional Safety degree qualified engineer with certification from TÜV Rheinland. Mostafa has over two decades of extensive experience in leading the end-to-end process of development and implementation of electrical/control systems for EPC/brownfield projects in the Oil & Gas and Mining sectors. He has delivered verification of design for several projects to give clients confidence to implement the solutions meeting their project technical requirements and financial restrictions. Mostafa actively supports project teams with project development to assure compliance with specifications and Australian standards.

Rhyss has worked in the materials handling industry for over a decade in both the electrical and instrumentation disciplines specialising in semi-mobile machines for iron ore and coal projects. Rhyss is highly organised and employs a systematic approach in his work with a constant focus on constructability, operability and maintainability during design.

Scotch is a Senior Project Engineer with a decade of practical experience in mining automation technologies, RF Engineering and telecommunications. He has delivered many successful projects for Caterpillar MineStar and Komatsu Modular Technologies on mobile mining equipment. Some of the responsibilities of this role include scoping, inspection, design, validation, documentation and standardisation engineering of the mining automation technologies and safety systems.

Jeremy is a Senior Control Systems engineer with extensive mining experience in Western Australia and abroad. Jeremy has provided services to the iron ore, copper, gold, and chemicals industries. Jeremy loves tackling challenging projects that push the limits of industrial automation, such as high-level supervisory systems like route sequencing and task management.

Phil Young

Lead Electrical Engineer

Philip has over two decades of experience as an electrical engineer specialising in design and contracts/procurement management. Philip has worked in an electrical engineering role on a number of projects in the resources sector. He has developed excellent engineering skills and is experienced in medium voltage and low voltage distribution systems, electrical protection systems, cathodic protection systems, berthing systems, diesel generation, power lines and conveyor systems.

Phil Sharp

Phil has over 30 years’ experience designing, deploying, commissioning and troubleshooting large scale process control networks, store and computer systems, fibre optic networks, voice and CCTV communication systems as part of multi-billion dollar construction projects. Phil is passionate about developing network standards for the organisation through developing specifications, training and continuous improvement of designs to aid in reduction of project time to delivery as well as reducing operational maintenance requirements post system handover.
